About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced Accent Group Finance Team as a Financial Accountant. From supporting month-end processes and diving into P&Ls, to working closely with teams like Marketing, Supply Chain, and Merchandise Planning - you'll be at the heart of the action, helping us keep our financials sharp and our business goals on track.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):
- End of month cycle, including posting journals, preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Business partnering with various other functions (e.g. Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandise Planning) to support expenditure monitoring and the overall achievement of business goals.
- Perform analysis of Brand P&L and be able to provide commentaries for variances between actual and budget, which includes addressing enquiries from both internal and external sources
- Be able to research, understand and interpret accounting standards and apply knowledge on day-to-day workings
- Assist with half-year reviews and year-end audits
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks and reporting
- Support the Group Finance Manager and assist other team members with the achievement of finance team objectives and projects
To be successful you will ideally have the following:
- Professionally qualified (e.g., CA, CPA)
- Bachelor qualified in accounting, finance, commerce or similar
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial accounting preferably within an ASX-listed company or top/mid-tier audit firm
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent trouble shooting/problem solving abilities whilst working under pressure
- Exceptional organizational and priority setting skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires attention to detail and a "hands on approach"
- Experience in dealing with external auditors
- High-level analytical skills, strong communication skills and attention to detail
