Cremorne, Victoria, Australia Cirql Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

About the Company:

At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics - our core specialisation is partnering with middle-market organisations that are experiencing change. This client is the perfect example of that, an established and high-growth manufacturing company proactively structuring its financial control systems, processes and capability for the next wave of expansion.

We are a Private Equity backed business and leading force in the manufacturing sector, comprising specialised business units and a clear trajectory to continue growth both organically and non organically across the organisation. As part of a larger, global group, our operations span across multiple sites across Australia and international operations.

Our environment is a fast-paced blend of strategic finance, M&A execution, and operational transformation. We don't do slow and steady. We thrive on the complexity of integrating new businesses, navigating a global, multi-entity structure, and solving the challenges that come with rapid scaling. This is an environment where individuals form part of a professional, high performance culture building new and better way to do things in finance and add real value to the commercial operations of the organisation.

About the Opportunity:

This is a critical senior accounting role within our finance team, created to strengthen our core financial operations and processes. Rather than navigating the complexity of a large global structure, your challenge will be to bring discipline, process, and integrity to the financial integrity of the business. You will take complete ownership of the month-end close and be instrumental in improving our operational accounting functions, particularly around Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and cash flow management. This role requires an established, hands-on professional who can be relied upon to deliver a timely and accurate month-end while proactively driving essential process improvements.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be the bedrock of our financial integrity. Your role is designed to be a positive agent of change, blending technical accounting with strategic process enhancement and collaborative business partnership.

  • Leading and executing the end-to-end month-end process, championing a culture of timeliness, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Driving the evolution of core financial processes by proactively refining the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles to enhance accuracy and optimise cash flow.
  • Championing the integrity of the balance sheet by establishing a robust and timely reconciliation framework.
  • Taking full ownership of significant inventory accounting, including Work-In-Progress (WIP) journals and reporting, to ensure accuracy and provide valuable insights.
  • Preparing the cash flow forecast, delivering enhanced visibility and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Preparing insightful monthly management reports and annual financial statements.
  • Managing direct tax obligations, including the preparation and lodgement of returns.
  • Driving the end-to-end external audit process while fostering a positive and efficient partnership with auditors.
  • Mentoring and coaching the Assistant Accountant, empowering them to grow their skills by delegating tasks.
  • Fostering strong collaborative partnerships across the business and acting as a trusted financial advisor to operational stakeholders.
  • Leveraging the ERP system to its full potential, driving improvements in data integrity and process automation to build a scalable finance function.

What You Will Bring

The ideal candidate is a CA/CPA qualified professional with a strong foundation in core accounting principles and a proven track record of enhancing financial processes. We are looking for someone with a proactive, agile mindset who is passionate about building efficient, scalable systems and thrives in a dynamic environment, viewing change as an opportunity for impact. This individual takes ownership to deliver outstanding results with autonomy and possesses exceptional communication skills to build collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders. While hands-on experience in a manufacturing or inventory-heavy environment is advantageous, a willingness for occasional travel as required for business partnering and leadership exposure is ideal.

Why Join Us?

This is a career-defining opportunity for a finance professional who is driven to build, innovate, and make a tangible impact. This role is for the accountant who is ready to move beyond maintenance and become a driver of change, learning for growth and impacting your entity directly and the group more broadly.

You will be at the heart of our business, establishing the robust financial foundations that will directly fuel our future growth and success. We will empower you with the autonomy to take ownership, drive meaningful change, and create a legacy of a best-in-class finance function.
