A little about the role

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for helping to improve the lives of children and young people by delivering high-quality, nurturing care in a family-style environment, while following the principles outlined in the Key Assets Practice Framework.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide direct support and supervision to children and young people, including facilitating family contact, transporting when necessary, engaging in individual and group activities, and responding to complex needs with trauma-informed care.
  • Maintain professional standards and ensure compliance with policies, including accurate record-keeping, safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, equality and diversity, and thorough risk assessments
  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals to support holistic care, attend relevant meetings, contribute to service development, and engage in ongoing professional learning and development.

The base salary for this position is $76, $81,905.20 per annum (based on a 1.0 FTE) + super + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.

This position is a part-time, permanent ongoing contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll come with:

  • Certificate III in Children's Service, or any equivalent qualifications or training in youth or social care is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience working with children/ young people and teenagers in both group and one-to-one settings. This will have included experience working with young people with trauma related challenging behaviours as well as children with a disability.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to the Safeguarding of children.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), a keen eye for detail and the ability to work well with others as well as autonomously.
