Your new role (SIL MANAGER)

As the SIL Manger you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of quality care and support services across multiple residential SIL homes. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of multiple Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
  • Develop, implement, and review processes and procedures to enhance the quality of support and services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, their families, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes.
  • Lead and support a team of Site Supervisors and Support Workers, ensuring high-quality services are delivered in line with NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Ensure participants receive support that aligns with their care plans and helps achieve their individual goals.
  • Implement and maintain effective communication and information management systems across all sites.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure supports are provided within allocated budgets.
  • Coordinate the transition of new participants into services and promote/manage SIL vacancies.
  • Ensure participant documentation is accurate, complete, and regularly updated.
  • Provide guidance to teams on complex issues, risk management, and incident response.
  • Manage team performance, address conflicts, and provide coaching as required.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on Workplace Health and Safety issues.
  • Manage, report, and follow up on incidents in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Perform general administrative duties as required.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the management team.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll have previous experience in a comparable role within the disability sector. You'll also have a clear understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and participant support requirements.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant formal qualifications.
  • Understanding and experience in delivering services in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the complex needs of people living with disability.
  • Experience managing support services for participants with complex care requirements.
  • Strong understanding of restrictive practices and associated reporting protocols.
  • Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards as they relate to Supported Independent Living (SIL).
  • Experience coordinating and maintaining SIL service arrangements and programs of support.
  • Solid understanding of compliance requirements across all support services.
  • Knowledge of reportable incidents and incident reporting procedures.
  • Experience monitoring budgets, participant services, and funding packages.
  • Experience managing and supporting staff performance.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in case management software, NDIS reporting systems, and advanced Excel skills for budget monitoring
  • Initiative, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
  • Valid Australian driver's licence (for site visits)
  • Permanent Australian work rights or valid work visa
  • Ability to pass background checks and working with vulnerable people screening
