Join the teams at Lake Windemere B-6 School and Para Vista Primary School. Both sites are located in the Salisbury North suburb and are quality educational settings nestled amongst picturesque grounds immaculately preserved for our students to enjoy on a daily basis.

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Person to join our innovative and engaging teams across both of our sites; the position is currently 3 days at Lake Windemere and 2 days at Para Vista. The Grounds Person is accountable for the day-to-day management of the school grounds and buildings and is accountable to the Business Manager.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain the outdoor areas of the school, including gardens, trees, natural play/learning spaces and sports fields (including layout and line marking as required).
  • Manage effective and efficient irrigation and watering systems across the school and children's centre
  • Remove unwanted little and rubbish from around the site, including broken tree limbs, broken furniture etc
  • Perform general handyperson tasks such as replacing and repairing locks and other door furniture, repair damaged furniture/fittings and flyscreens, removing graffiti and putting together/adjusting simple furniture

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and effectively develop the school grounds and facilities with limited supervision and direction
  • Experience in maintaining a safe and engaging grounds and facilities environment and the use of grounds tools and machinery while ensuring WH&S obligations are met
  • Experience with horticultural requirements, irrigation and it's maintenance and the appropriate use of chemicals and fertilisers
  • A driver's license is essential for this position
