Pembroke School is seeking an experienced, student-centred School Psychologist to strengthen whole-school wellbeing from ELC to Year 12. Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

About the Role

As a key member of our pastoral care and Student Wellbeing team, you will provide evidence-based assessment, counselling and consultation, and help shape proactive, preventative wellbeing initiatives across the School. You'll work closely with leaders, teachers, families and external providers to support students' mental health, learning and safety.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate, administer and report on psychological and psychoeducational assessments.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, counselling and consultation for students (ELC–12).
  • Provide concise executive summaries to inform classroom practice and individual learning plans.
  • Collaborate with Heads of School, Inclusive Education, and pastoral staff to plan support.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case notes and records in school systems.
  • Support critical incident responses and contribute to preventative wellbeing programs.

About You

You are compassionate, discreet and highly professional, with the judgement and resilience to support students and staff in a busy school setting. You build trust quickly, communicate with clarity, and work seamlessly in multidisciplinary teams while exercising sound clinical autonomy.

You will bring:

  • Registered Psychologist with Ahpra; APS membership (or eligibility) valued.
  • Demonstrated experience providing evidence-based support to children/adolescents in clinical or educational settings.
  • Proficiency in administering/interpreting psychological and educational assessments; strong report writing.
  • Deep knowledge of child safety, privacy, mandatory reporting and ethical practice.
  • Ability to design and deliver preventative mental-health/wellbeing programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; effective family, staff and external-provider engagement.
  • Comfortable using student information systems and maintaining rigorous documentation.

  • Current Plink RRHAN-EC training:
  • Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
  • First Aid and CPR
