Do you enjoy Classifications ?  Seeking experienced Classifier  for  full time permanent role with leading Multinational to join team located Banksmeadow.

  • Classifier role covers a wide range of services and legislative requirements for both Internal and External Customers.
  • Classifying variety of commodities within the customs tariff
  • Troubleshooting any queries with clients and internal departments

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of Australian Customs Tariffs is essential
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects of moving goods into and out of Australia
  • Investigating Issues

    (continuously improve processes, apply common sense, provide insight)
  • Communicating Information

    (articulate information, question assumptions, negotiation)
  • Assessment of Import Shipments in express
  • Detailed Classification to determine correct Tariff (HTS)
  • Complex Valuation of import shipments
  • Audit parts missing from the database and update as required
  • Liaise with customer's to ensure prompt generation of technical based enquiries,
  • Undertake audit process on completed customs entries
  • Create and amend customs entry refunds/PWA's (Post Warrant Amendments).
  • Assist Brokerage Team leaders and Management team to meet the departments KPIs and Service agreements to the Customer.
  • Provide technical advice to both Internal and External Customers in relation to import duty and tax rates and requirements of imported goods for both AU Customs and Quarantine agencies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Having completed or are currently attending in the Diploma of Customs Brokerage, and experience in classifying
  • Ability to set priorities
  • Understanding of EDI Cargowise Software
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management skills
  • Confident of working autonomously

Normal business hours Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 5pm.  4 Days in office 1 day WFH on offer

Salary negotiable for suited applicant.

To qualify for this role you must have current local experience in a similar role within International Freight Forwarding and have full working rights in Australia
