Salary
$109,055* to $121,609* per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. *Award increase of 3% to be applied from 14 July 2025. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role
The Project Manager Major Projects will have management responsibility for the overall effective and timely delivery and implementation of Council's larger, multi-year and complex major projects delivered through the Infrastructure & Major Projects Division.

Position requirements:

Qualifications and licences

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil), eligible for Corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or, other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Project management qualification
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Current General Construction Induction Training Card

Experience, skills and knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience relevant to the role including experience in managing and delivering major complex civil infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience in contract management associated with multi--scale civil infrastructure projects including cost estimations, preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluations, contract administration and management.
  • Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate satisfactory outcomes within the context of project management.
  • Significant knowledge of procurement guidelines and experience in the preparation of tender documentation and assessment of contractor capability and contract administration.
  • Proven technical, financial, project management and leadership skills relevant to the responsibilities of the position, and a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills together with proven experience managing multiple projects, demonstrating flexibility and driving effective decisions in tight timeframes.
  • Deep understanding and experience in risk assessment of projects, activities and tasks, work health and safety, and the principles of equal employment opportunity.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements of relevant acts and regulations for delivering large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Local Government experience (desirable).
