One Solution Recruitment has partnered with our local council & we are currently seeking a Building Management Services Technical Officer at Northern Beaches Council.

The successful candidate will be part of the Building Management Services team ensuring that Council's approved projects and capital works for Public Buildings, Residential and Commercial properties, Aquatic Centres and Multi Sports Stadium are completed in an effective and efficient manner.

Great pay rate for the right candidate. Full time position based of 9-day fortnight of 7am-4pm. in Thornleigh with free onsite parking for a 6 month contract with possibility to extend.

The Building Management Services Technical Officer has three major functions:

To implement the approved Capital Works programs for Council's buildings in an efficient and effective manner.

To implement asset maintenance works programs that support the work of the Branch in accordance with the agreed levels of service for Council's Public Buildings and Aquatic Centres.

To implement Capital Works Projects programs that supports the work of the Branch in accordance with the agreed levels of service for Council's Public Buildings and Aquatic Centres.

The Building Management Services Technical Officer has these major functions:

  1. Arrange quotations and estimates of cost of Capital Works for buildings as requested by the Team Leader Building Management Services.
  2. Prepare and implement the works schedules for approved Capital Works for buildings.
  3. Provide status reports on Capital Works to the Team Leader Building Management Services.
  4. Supervise contractors ensuring work is completed on time, to a required standard and certify completed works for payment.
  5. Process subcontractor invoices.
  6. Prioritise work for both day labour teams and contractors.
  7. Undertake other tasks as required by the Team Leader Building Management Services within the skills, training, qualifications and experience of the role.
  8. To work in both a business office environment and field operations environment and will be required to visit other Council premises or related business premises in order to conduct their role
  9. Accept and approve quotations for scope of works.
  10. Engage contractors under the Building Maintenance and Construction tender.
  11. Approve variations to the contract.
  12. Act in the role of Team Leader Building Management Services.
Background information / Compatibility requirements
  • Advanced building knowledge, high interpersonal and communication skills and supervisory experience
  • Cert IV in Building and Construction or equivalent
  • High interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and licensed "C" Class to drive a car.
