Excolo is partnering with an established insurance leader that is transforming the industry with data. As a Senior Data Scientist you'll play a critical role in designing, building and deploying machine learning models that directly shape products, pricing and customer experiences. You'll work end-to-end from exploration and prototyping through production and lifecycle management of models in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with product and engineering teams to turn complex data into measurable business impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Build, test and scale machine learning models that power smarter insurance products and services
  • Use Databricks, Spark and Delta Lake to develop and deploy pipelines that handle large and complex datasets
  • Leverage MLflow to manage experiments, track performance and productionise models
  • Collaborate with engineers and product teams to bring ML features into production
  • Deploy, monitor and scale models in containerised environments using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Turn data into clear insights and recommendations for technical and business teams

What We're Looking For:

  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field
  • 5+ years experience as a data scientist with success taking models into production
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks including Spark, Delta Lake and MLflow
  • Proven experience deploying models in Kubernetes and Docker environments
  • Expertise in Python, SQL and modern ML frameworks
  • Strong background in statistical modelling and machine learning
  • Ability to translate data into impact and communicate insights clearly

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with MLOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Prior experience in insurance or financial services
