· Collaborate with compliance, fraud operations, and technology teams to operationalize models into production environments.
· Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover patterns of suspicious behavior and emerging risks.
· Conduct model validation, performance monitoring, and back-testing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and explainability.
· Generate insightful dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior management and regulators.
· Stay current on regulatory requirements (AML/CTF, FATF guidelines, etc.) and integrate compliance needs into model development.
· Support ongoing innovation in financial crime analytics by researching and applying new AI/ML approaches.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
· Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Scientist/Analyst in financial services, focusing on financial crime (AML, fraud, sanctions, transaction monitoring).
· Hands-on expertise with NetReveal (BAE Systems) or similar platforms (Actimize, FICO, SAS AML, etc.).
· Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
· Experience with machine learning algorithms (classification, clustering, anomaly detection, NLP).
· Solid understanding of data modeling, feature engineering, and statistical methods.
· Familiarity with financial crime regulations, typologies, and compliance frameworks.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
· Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for model deployment.
· Knowledge of graph analytics and network analysis for fraud/AML investigations.
· Exposure to explainable AI (XAI) and model governance frameworks.
