The role represents an exciting opportunity to be, or become a Manager of your own set of clients and team, with a particular focus on SMSF (Self-Managed Super Fund) services. It would be suitable for someone already at client manager level, or a driven supervisor/assistant manager looking to step up into a leadership position with specialist responsibilities in SMSFs.

You'll be working closely with our leadership team to onboard and manage a portfolio of SMSF and business clients, while developing and mentoring your team to deliver exceptional service. You will also help drive strategic insights and compliance outcomes in the SMSF space, and play a pivotal role in enhancing our specialist offerings.

About The Role:

• Review work performed by staff members in your team - specifically strategy
• Preparation of business advisory reports including cashflow projections
• Mentoring and training accountants in your team
• Preparing and lodging SMSF annual returns and regulatory reporting
• Providing strategic advice on SMSF investment and administration
• Assisting clients with the establishment of SMSFs
• Staying up-to-date with changes in SMSF legislation and best practices
• Liaising with clients and building strong client relationships

Skills and experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm, with a focus on SMSFs, compliance and advisory services.
• Proven client communication and relationship management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients across a range of accounting and tax matters.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, tax returns and BAS end-to-end at a high standard, with minimal review required.
• A moderate to high level of technical tax and compliance knowledge (e.g., Div 7A, GST, CGT, income tax legislation), and the ability to explain these clearly and simply to clients.
• Experience in training and reviewing the work of junior team members, including tax returns, BAS, tax planning reports and advisory deliverables.
• A solid understanding of business advisory and tax planning strategies, including structuring advice, capital gains tax, small business concessions and wealth-building strategies for SMSF and SME clients.
• Strong working knowledge of BGL and Xero
