Position Summary
The Quality & Process Improvement Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF, HACCP, Halal, and customer requirements. This role leads quality assurance and compliance activities, drives root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and partners closely with production to enhance product consistency, safety, and regulatory compliance. The role breakdown is approximately 70% Quality and 30% Process & Continuous Improvement support.

Responsibilities
Quality Systems Leadership (70%)

  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with GMP, SQF, HACCP, Halal, and customer standards.
  • Lead internal audits, support external audits (certification, customer, regulatory), and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Review and approve product release documentation, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and finished goods compliance.
  • Lead non-conformance (NCR) investigations and implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence.
  • Manage document control, change control, supplier approvals, and risk assessment processes.
  • Track and report quality KPIs, including first-pass yield, customer complaints, NCR closure time, and audit performance.

Process & Continuous Improvement Support (30%)

  • Collaborate with production to optimise manufacturing processes for quality and consistency.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring quality risks are identified and controlled early.
  • Assist with process validation, capability studies, and data-driven improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to safety and quality risk assessments and support GMP compliance on the production floor.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years in quality assurance, quality systems, or continuous improvement within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000, or similar quality frameworks.
  • Proven experience with internal audits, CAPA, risk assessment, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
  • Competency in MRP/ERP systems, batch record review, and quality data reporting.
  • Familiarity with sanitation and cleaning validation in food production.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical/Process Engineering, or related discipline.
  • HACCP certification (preferred) and experience with SQF or ISO certification audits.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar continuous improvement training advantageous.
