We're Hiring: Detailing Supervisor | St Marys, NSW (moving to Glendenning March 2026)

Steel Builders, a proudly 100% Australian-owned structural steel fabricator, is looking for an
experienced and proactive Detailing Supervisor
to join our growing team in Western Sydney.

We specialise in delivering innovative, cost-effective steel solutions to the residential construction industry — and we're focused on quality, service, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As the Detailing Supervisor, you will lead our in-house detailing team, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality steel shop drawings and schedules. This role blends hands-on technical knowledge with people leadership, customer service, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and allocate detailing workloads based on team capability and project priorities
  • Ensure all shop drawings meet project requirements and quality standards
  • Train, mentor, and support team development
  • Liaise with clients on RFIs, site measures, and drawing clarifications
  • Investigate site issues and provide technical detailing support
  • Maintain documentation for invoicing and KPI reporting
  • Drive a culture of safety, innovation, and accountability

About You

You're a detail-oriented leader with a strong background in steel detailing and residential construction. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are confident managing both people and projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in residential construction or detailing
  • Leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Tekla and AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret structural plans
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with steel products
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and manufacturing processes
