Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer & Marketing Manager (1 day per week)

Location: Canberra, ACT (Fyshwick and Mitchell, Main office in Mitchell)

Pay: $40–$50 per hour

Start: Immediately

Type: Ongoing casual or part time, approx. 5-8 hours per week

Brands: PLAYHEM (Riddle Room, Splash Lab, Axxe, Breakr)

Playhem is looking for a creative all-rounder to help us level up our marketing across four fun, experience-driven brands. You will create engaging content, design ads and signage, and shape how our brands show up online and in venue. Work closely with the owners, split your time between in-store and at home, and see your work out in the wild every week.

What you will do

• Design social media assets, digital ads, posters, flyers, menus and in-venue signage.
• Plan and create content across image and short-form video for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
• Shoot photography in venue, including action shots and customer moments.
• Edit photos and videos for campaigns, reels and paid ads.
• Help develop and maintain brand guidelines for each brand.
• Prepare artwork for print and liaise with printers or signwriters as needed.
• Schedule posts, write short captions, and keep assets organised.
• Track what performs well and suggest improvements.

You bring

• Solid Graphic Design skills with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Basic to intermediate video skills with Premiere Pro.
• Photography experience, including shooting in low light and fast-moving environments.
• An eye for layout, typography and brand consistency.
• Comfortable working within guidelines and also helping to build them.
• Good people skills. You will sometimes interact with customers to capture content.
• Reliable, proactive and happy to work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion graphics or After Effects.
• Knowledge of Meta Ads, Google Ads or basic analytics.
• Experience preparing artwork for large-format print and signage.

Work setup

• Hybrid. Most design work can be done from home.
• Regular meetings with the owners to plan projects.
• On-site time at our Mitchell and Fyshwick venues to capture photo and video content.
