The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Draftsperson to join our Brisbane office to assist with design activities across a number of significant projects.

Your main responsibility would be the design and drafting of electrical and instrumentation drawings involved in processing plant design, on a specific project basis, to achieve design outcomes appropriate to the quality, budget and program agreed for each project.

Your typical day will consist of (but not limited to)

  • Produce drawings (hard copy and electronic CAD files) in accordance with client expectations/specification, GRES Standards, Specifications and Procedures, accuracy, content, quality, safety in design, industry best practices, relevant Standards, Codes and By-Laws
  • Produce drawings/designs for constructability, manufacture, suitability/availability of materials and vendor information
  • Manage workload to ensure tasks are completed in an orderly manner, within times required for various projects

What we are looking for:

  • Designer/Drafting qualifications / diploma, CAD certification or skills
  • Detailed knowledge of CAD design packages and CAD systems
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a design context
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in process design
  • Experience with minerals processing plant Electrical design is essential
  • Understanding EPC and EPCM culture goals
  • Strong knowledge of drafting techniques, skills, codes and standards, relevant by-laws and standard industry practices
  • Be able to transmit clear and concise information through drawings to engineers
  • Full and Unrestricted Australian working rights
