The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Competency Administrator to join our national civil and rail team. Based in our Seven Hills Office (NSW) and on client sites across NSW, this pivotal role focuses on fostering a safe, compliant, and well-trained workforce within the civil and rail sector.

You will oversee the implementation of safety policies, ensure RIW, Pegasus, compliance, and engage with regulatory bodies to maintain alignment with industry standards. Acting as a key contact for competency matters, you will provide valuable insights and deliver actionable reporting to management.

About you

You are a meticulous and proactive professional with a passion for compliance and administration. With experience in managing competency platforms, you excel in fostering a safe and competent workforce.

Your experience and knowledge will include:

  • Prior experience in a compliance, training or administrative role (rail or construction preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of competency platforms like RIW, Pegasus, 3D Safety etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update worker competencies across multiple systems and client portals.
  • Monitor expiry dates and proactively manage renewals (e.g. licences, medicals, inductions).
  • Liaise with training providers and book required training, assessments, medicals and/or inductions.
  • Assist with onboarding by verifying all competency requirements are met.
  • Assist with client site mobilisation by verifying all induction requirements are met.
  • Provide accurate reports and documentation for audits and client reviews.
  • Respond to client and site team queries related to workforce compliance.
Mandatory Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in competency administration (Essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Essential)
  • Rail Category 1 Medical (Essential)
  • Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Essential)
  • Workplace Drug and Alcohol Tester (Essential)
  • Must be available to work major possession weekends. (Essential)
  • Must be able to pass regular workplace drug and alcohol testing (Essential)
  • Cert IV in WHS or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Rail Category 1 Medical (Essential)

(Note: Programmed will cover the cost of Medicals and Training/Upskilling for the successful candidate if there are gaps identified in the above, however the individual, must agree to upskill as required by the business and some training may be outside of standard business hours and/or in the individuals own time to achieve qualifications.)
