The Position

Manningham Council is seeking to appoint an impactful Director Connected Communities to lead a broad portfolio that delivers a range of services from maternal and child health, children, youth and families, recreation, healthy aging, through to economic development, events and grants.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director role is part of an executive team that leads through empowerment, supporting a positive culture and modelling the organisational values. The role has four direct reports and oversees approximately 85 dedicated staff.

You will bring a track record leading community focused service delivery and building strategies that deliver value and long-term benefits. As a high performing and collaborative professional, you will have a contemporary approach to engaging and developing multi-disciplinary teams and thrive in building authentic community engagement and partnerships.

We are passionate about protecting and enhancing our 114 km municipality in Melbourne's East, stretching from Bulleen to Wonga Park, 12 km from Melbourne's CBD.

Manningham curves along the Yarra River, and covers suburbs of Bulleen, Doncaster, Doncaster East, Donvale, Park Orchards, Templestowe, Templestowe Lower, Warrandyte, Warrandyte South and parts of Wonga Park, Nunawading and Ringwood North.

Manningham has a unique balance of city and country, extending from a major activity centre in Doncaster Hill, along a Green Wedge to horse trails in Warrandyte.

Our community is culturally diverse, with 44% of residents born overseas, and 46% speaking a language other than English at home.
