Pembroke School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Library Assistant (Senior School) to join our Senior School Resource Centre team for the 2026 academic year. This fixed-term, part-time role (two days per week, 7.5 hours per day) supports the smooth and vibrant operation of the Years 11 and 12 Resource Centre.

Working across a balanced roster of early starts (8:00 am) and late finishes (6:00 pm), you will help ensure the Resource Centre remains a welcoming, well-resourced and supportive environment for students and staff.

About the Role

The Library Assistant (Senior School) provides frontline support in the daily operations of the Resource Centre, assisting students and staff with research enquiries, digital and physical resource access, and the use of library systems and technology. Working collaboratively with the Librarian and the library team, the role also involves maintaining collections, supporting AV and IT equipment use, and helping create an engaging study environment for senior students.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys supporting young people, is organised and adaptable, and is comfortable navigating technology and resource management processes.

About You

You are someone who enjoys working in a dynamic Senior School environment and takes pride in providing excellent support to students and staff. You bring a calm, approachable manner, a genuine interest in helping young people succeed, and the confidence to work across both digital and physical library tasks. You're organised, adaptable, comfortable with technology, and able to balance independent work with being a supportive member of a collaborative team.

You will bring:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with students and staff
  • Clear and confident written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands
  • Confidence using a range of digital tools and the willingness to learn library systems and AV/IT equipment
  • A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach to work
  • Experience in a library or resource-centre environment (desirable, but not essential)
  • A commitment to providing excellent service and supporting a positive learning environment

  • Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
  • Current Plink RRHAN-EC training: Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
  • First Aid and CPR
