About The Role
A local council in the south-west is seeking a motivated and organised HR Project Officer to join our team on a 3-month contract, starting immediately. This role provides a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration within a local government setting. You'll work closely with our Talent Acquisition team to support smooth and efficient HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview Scheduling: Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, manage calendars, and ensure timely communication.
  • Candidate Care: Act as a point of contact for candidates, sending confirmations, follow-ups, and feedback.
  • Job Posting & Requisition Management: Post job openings on internal and external platforms, ensuring job descriptions are accurate and up to date.
  • Background Checks & Pre-Employment Screening: Initiate and track background checks, ensuring compliance with council policies.
  • Onboarding Support: Draft and send offer letters, coordinate approvals and documentation, assist with onboarding logistics, and ensure new hires have access to necessary systems and resources.
  • Administrative Support to Talent Acquisition Advisor: Provide high-level admin support, manage calendars, schedule meetings, prepare recruitment-related documents and reports, and assist with expense tracking and invoice processing.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in HR administration or recruitment support, preferably within local government.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive candidate-focused approach.
  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and support a busy Talent Acquisition team.
