About the role:

The Workshop Leading Hand will act as the conduit between our technicians and our Workshop Manager and will provide mentoring, guidance and practical and hands-on assistance to the Team.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Hands on mentoring and diagnosis assistance to the workshop team.
  • Split shift leadership and communication with workshop management.
  • Diagnosis of faults.
  • Parts requests.
  • Post repair testing for quality compliance where required.
  • Basic auto electrical understanding and repair.
  • Compliance inspections and inspection sheet population.
  • Digital work order population, time recording, parts, and oil recording.
  • Welding and fabrication duties.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement plans and execution of initiatives
  • Provide temporary coverage for workshop manager as required

About You:

  • Previous leading hand experience(3+ years) working in a workshop environment
  • Good time management and excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to effectively mentor staff and provide guidance on technical matters
  • Competency in using a variety of testing equipment
  • Auto Electrical and diagnostic skills, and/or Auto Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of heavy construction machinery and attachments
  • Intermediate IT skills (digital work order and check sheet usage).
  • A strong focus on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality procedures
  • Demonstrated appetite for problem solving and providing solutions.
  • A flexible/adaptable mindset
  • Current driver's license (minimum requirement).
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police Check
