About the business
Upstream Energy is an independent power producer and one of Australia's longest-serving providers of solar power purchase agreements.
We own and manage over 400 private power stations around the country and are growing rapidly. Upstream designs, funds and commissions clean energy systems - solar, batteries, EVs etc - so people can access new renewable technologies at nil capital cost.
Upstream is developing and delivering some of the most innovative models for transforming Australia to zero carbon.
With the new federal battery rebate, we are pushing into residential sales.
About the role
Upstream has an ongoing social media strategy generating inbound leads and you will be responsible for successfully guiding them through to conversion. You will be part of a small, fun team with a relaxed culture - but you are hungry and want to close deals.
Our customers are usually curious about what their specific system will be - your extensive knowledge will educate and satisfy our clients.
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven BDM to join our team. You will be responsible for pursuing new inbound residential opportunities in the solar battery market. You will work closely with our in house designer / installer to ensure technical proficiency.
Role Responsibilities:
• Convert new sales opportunities and build rapport for word of mouth sales
• Educate potential clients about system designs
• Collaborate with the team to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in the solar energy market
Role Requirements:
• Proven track record of sales success in the solar energy industry
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong closing skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented

Skills and experience
The perfect candidate has extensive sales experience in solar. Preference is certainly for someone with knowledge of solar components or a base level understanding of electrical components and batteries - but we are open to fresh new talent with a passion to learn and develop. Our customers aren't all solar experts, so it actually helps to have all levels of understanding on the team
