Senior Communications Officer

Key responsibilities
As Senior Communication Officer, you will specifically:
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Develop, implement and evaluate a range of integrated, innovative and client-focused communication and engagement strategies, including events, that support the achievement of the department's strategic objectives in the areas of children, youth justice and multicultural affairs
• Write, edit and coordinate the production of a variety of digital and print communication materials, including publications, online and social media content, enewsletters, videos, presentations, advertising and feature stories, to support departmental campaigns and initiatives
• Apply contemporary communication and engagement tools and techniques including social media to assist in reaching the department's diverse audiences and stakeholders
• Provide strategic advice on communication issues and projects to internal stakeholders
• Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with departmental clients and staff at all levels, including senior officers.
