About the Role:

The Assistant Director sits within the external budget team, within strategic finance and reports to the Director External Budgets. The team leads the external budget process, including CHS' input into the development of the ACT Government's annual budget papers in the development of CHS' annual budget statements.

The Assistant Director plays a critical role within the team, assisting in ensuring quality and accuracy of budget processes, maintaining external budget and cashflow projections, and providing valuable finance service support to stakeholders across CHS.

The role requires an understanding of financial operations within a complex government environment including Whole of Government processes, and a good working knowledge of financial information systems, such as Oracle and TM1.

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have great attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise work to meet competing deadlines. You will have positive attitude and a proactive approach with a strong work ethic and a focus on contributing to business improvement initiatives.

About your Team:

Strategic Finance is part of the Chief Finance Officer Division and provides high quality, timely and accurate financial advice and services to CHS focusing on compliance with legislation and financial framework requirements. The team operates in a high pace and dynamic environment and are responsible for financial and capital reporting, accounting operations, cash management and external budget and estimates development. Additionally, we also assist in driving the development, maintenance and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
