The Early Intervention Specialist will deliver high-quality, play-based Behaviour Therapy services to children and their families. Working as a sub-contractor, the practitioner will support children with developmental, behavioural, or social-emotional needs to build functional skills, increase independence, and enhance overall wellbeing. The role requires a child-centred, evidence-informed approach that fosters collaborative relationships with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour therapy sessions using play-based, strengths-focused, and developmentally appropriate methods.
  • Conduct assessments, develop behaviour support strategies, and implement tailored intervention plans aligned with NDIS goals.
  • Monitor progress, adjust strategies as required, and maintain accurate session notes and documentation.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent therapeutic support across environments.
  • Offer parent and caregiver coaching to support continuity of skill development.
  • Adhere to NDIS Practice Standards, child-safety guidelines, and organisational policies.
  • Manage caseload, scheduling, and reporting requirements as an independent contractor.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Behaviour Support, Allied Health, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in early intervention and play-based behaviour therapy.
  • Strong understanding of child development, behaviour principles, and family-centred practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with children and caregivers.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable Persons Card.
