Location: Launceston, Tasmania (hybrid: office, remote & community visits)
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, full time
Salary: Commensurate with award + experience (Allied Health Professionals Award – Tasmania)
About Us
At Amrita Sinha Occupational Therapy (ASOT), we specialise in delivering evidence-based, person-centred supports for clients funded primarily under the NDIS. We work with people aged 16–65 years presenting with psychosocial disabilities, Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and other neurodivergent conditions.
We are a growing, values-driven practice based in Launceston, where innovation, collaboration, and mentorship are at the heart of how we work.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist – Level 1 to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or early-career OT who wants to:
- Develop skills across functional capacity assessment, therapy, and capacity building within the NDIS space
- Work with a supportive caseload of clients in clinic, home, and community settings
- Receive structured supervision, training, and onboarding directly with the Founder/Senior OT
- Progress towards Level 2 responsibilities as skills, confidence, and clinical reasoning develop
This is a hybrid position with flexibility to balance remote work, office time, and community visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, intervention, and goal-focused OT supports to NDIS participants aged 16–65
- Deliver both psychosocial and functional interventions (e.g., ADL training, sensory regulation, capacity-building skills)
- Contribute to Functional Capacity Assessments, OT reports, and therapy plans that inform NDIS funding
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Actively participate in regular supervision, reflective practice, and CPD activities
- Demonstrate commitment to best practice, ethical standards, and client-centred outcomes
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration (or evidence of process commenced if awaiting work permit or new graduate pathway)
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills
- A genuine interest in working with clients with psychosocial disabilities and neurodivergence
- Ability to work flexibly across remote, office, and community environments
- Current driver's license (NDIS work often involves travel within the Launceston area; work car provided)
What We Offer
- Award-aligned salary commensurate with experience
- Structured onboarding & mentorship with Founder/Senior OT
- Weekly clinical supervision and peer support
- Funded professional development allowance + study leave opportunities
- Flexible hybrid work model (remote, office, and community visits)
- Work car provided for client visits and community travel
- Clear career progression pathways to Level 2 OT
