The Opportunity
The Industry Sales Consultant is responsible for driving profitable sales growth within a defined industry sector (e.g., Pharm & Bio, Food & Beverage, Energy, OEM). The role combines technical expertise with consultative selling, ensuring Bürkert solutions are positioned to meet customer needs, align with industry trends, and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned industry sector.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities to achieve sales targets.
- Negotiate and close sales contracts in line with company policies and margin expectations.
2. Account Management
- Maintain and grow existing customer relationships through regular contact and support.
- Conduct account reviews, identify cross-sell/upsell opportunities, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop account plans for strategic customers in collaboration with the BDM/ASM.
3. Industry & Technical Expertise
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of the assigned industry, including regulations, standards, competitors, and trends.
- Translate customer challenges into tailored Bürkert solutions, leveraging technical knowledge and applications expertise.
- Work with Product Managers and Application Specialists to design and deliver solutions.
4. Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate closely with State BDMs, ASMs, Internal Sales, Marketing, and Service teams.
- Provide input to marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Report on sales activities, pipeline status, and industry insights via CRM and regular management updates.
5. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, pricing guidelines, and ethical standards.
- Uphold Bürkert's brand reputation and customer experience standards.

- Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills.
- Technical aptitude to understand fluid control systems and automation solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
- Customer-centric mindset with ability to build trust and long-term partnerships.
- Commercial acumen: ability to balance sales growth, margin, and customer value.
- Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience in sales, business development, or account management within an industrial/technical environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Familiarity with assigned industry sector (Water, Pharma, F&B, Energy, etc.) highly desirable.
- Experience with CRM systems and MS Office Suite.
