Providing a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 we aim to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences with real-world industry relevance.
About the role
The new Industry Engagement Manager, role has been created to connect young people at our Brisbane School with industries and workplaces that inspire exploration and purpose, ensuring safe and meaningful workplace learning, and building sustainable workforce pipelines for localised industry partners.
This pivotal role drives the design and delivery of industry experiences, including Standard, Academy and Rookies programs, ensuring they remain innovative, engaging, and responsive to the changing world of work.
A forward-thinking effective leader and industry champion you will be key member of the Brisbane School Leadership Team, leading a team of Industry Consultants and playing a strategic role in operational decision-making and process improvements, ensuring compliance with school policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key functions include:
- Driving business development and Industry growth: Proactively expanding Industry Partner networks in alignment with the future of work, strengthening the Industry Membership Framework and negotiating mutually beneficial partnership agreements that deliver long-term growth and innovation within the Academies model.
- Building a culture of safety, wellbeing and excellence in industry learning: Leading and overseeing industry program safety and embedding a culture of accountability, safety, and professionalism to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our young people.
- Delivering outstanding outcomes for young people: Ensuring every young person achieves a positive destination pathway through either an apprenticeship, traineeship, further study, or employment.
- Leading the Academies model both in schools and across the system: Overseeing the effective delivery of Academy programs, driving innovation, ensuring quality, continuous improvement and anticipating future workforce trends positioning the Academies as leading programs in preparing young people for industry specialisation.
- Leading and developing the Industry team: Building a high-performance culture of collaboration, professional growth, and shared purpose through inspiring and effective coaching, mentoring and goal setting.
- Contributing to school and system leadership: Actively contributing to the Redlands School Management Team and collaborating with the broader Industry Engagement Manager network to design and implement system-level improvements to industry programs.

About You
To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing team to achieve outcomes and performance targets.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and networking skills.
- Passionate about the success of young people and is committed to making a tangible impact in education and industry.
- Experience managing quality systems and processes.
- Knowledge of safety, wellbeing, WHS and risk management processes and practices.
- High-level organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions independently.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and duty of care requirements.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current driver's license and ability to travel between sites as required.
- Ability to demonstrate The Industry School values.
- Right to work in Australia.
Desirable:
- Experience in an education or training organisation is highly regarded.
- Qualifications in education, training, business, or a related field (preferred).
