Inspire Through Faith. Lead with Integrity. Empower Future Generations
Start Date: Term 1, 2026
About the College
East Preston Islamic College (EPIC) is an independent, coeducational K–12 school located in Melbourne's northern suburbs. Rooted in Islamic faith and values, EPIC is committed to nurturing young people who are confident, compassionate, and guided by integrity. The College aspires to provide an education that balances academic excellence with spiritual and moral development — inspiring students to contribute positively to Australian society and the global community.
As the College continues its journey of renewal and growth, EPIC seeks a dynamic, faith-driven leader who can help shape the next phase of its strategic and cultural evolution.
About the Role
The Deputy Principal is a key member of the College Executive, providing visible, stabilising, and values-driven leadership across operational, educational, and pastoral domains. Working closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principal will model professionalism, strengthen staff capability, and build a united culture of excellence grounded in Islamic principles.
This is a role for a courageous and principled leader — one who inspires others through faith, fosters collaboration, and leads with integrity, empathy, and strategic insight.
Key areas of responsibility include (abridged; full details in Candidate Information Pack):
- Help lead the daily operations of the College with consistency, clarity, and care.
- Strengthening teaching and learning, professional culture, and curriculum alignment with the Australian Curriculum and Islamic worldview.
- Designing and implementing a whole-school wellbeing framework rooted in compassion, respect, and Akhlaq (Islamic character).
- Supporting governance, risk management, and compliance aligned with Victorian Child Safe Standards.
- Building community trust and partnerships through authentic engagement and communication.
- Acting for the Principal as required and contributing to strategic planning and school improvement.
About You
You are a values-led educator with a deep understanding of how faith, education, and wellbeing intersect to shape thriving school communities. You bring warmth, professionalism, and clarity to your leadership — guiding others with humility and purpose.
You will bring:
- A strong personal commitment to Islamic values and their expression in daily school life.
- Proven experience leading whole-school initiatives, driving improvement and change management across teaching, learning, and wellbeing.
- The ability to inspire, mentor, and empower staff while maintaining high standards of accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and community relationships.
- A sound understanding of governance, compliance, and strategic systems.
- Courage, integrity, and the emotional intelligence to lead through change.
