Head of Finance - Brisbane CBD - Engineering

Our client is a Brisbane CBD-based engineering business that is seeking to build on its proud history and poised for growth. The company is increasing its service offerings for its mining and heavy industry clients and is developing AI tools to enhance their premium offering.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Finance will play a key role in partnering with the CEO and the Leadership Team to drive this growth and help pilot the business through its next stage of evolution. They need someone who will share their vision, interrogate and supplement ideas, and bring energy to the role.

They are seeking an individual with the following characteristics:

  • A commercial, forward-looking 'Head of' who can work with the new data lake to make meaningful analysis for decision support purposes
  • The ability to partner with the management team to prioritise business interests
  • Experience of having constructed dashboards to assist with business planning
  • Increase the financial knowledge of the project management team to assist with business planning and development
  • Potentially have M&A or due diligence experience
  • Manage the outsourced IT providers and associated projects (eg cyber security, 'Bring Your Own Device')
  • Be humble, openminded and a team player
  • High level of financial literacy and ensure strong financial hygiene
  • Assist in the development of an employee share scheme or similar
  • An individual who is pragmatic, down-to-earth, and who has the ability to roll up sleeves and get into the detail where required
  • Be a potential secretary for the board
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with 10 years+ post-qualified experience This role will have considerable influence across the organisation through the provision of transparent sales revenue, and by aligning teams to sales metrics to help drive business
