Myhealth Burwood is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to oversee the operations of our Medical Centre and Urgent Care Clinic. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's leading medical networks and work with a committed, professional team focused on high-quality patient care.


About the Role

The Practice Manager plays a key leadership role supporting safe, efficient and high-performing operations across both General Practice and Urgent Care services. This role is suited to an organised, people-focused leader who thrives in a busy healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership, Training & People Management

  • Lead, support and mentor reception and administrative staff
  • Oversee rostering, onboarding, training and competency requirements
  • Contribute to a positive, professional and patient-centred team culture
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage for both GP and Urgent Care operations

Practice Operations & Patient Experience

  • Manage day-to-day clinic and urgent care workflows and patient flow
  • Reception duties (phones, billing, bookings, arrivals)
  • Assist with patient communication, wait-time updates and service recovery when needed
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, and allied health teams to maintain efficient care delivery

Compliance, WHS & Mandatory Processes

  • Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) obligations and incident reporting
  • Maintain infection prevention & control standards and mandatory training records
  • Support RACGP accreditation and Urgent Care regulatory requirements
  • Ensure policies, protocols, checklists and emergency procedures are adhered to and reviewed regularly

Administration, Financial & Reporting

  • Oversee Medicare billing, claims accuracy, banking and invoicing
  • Manage supplies, consumables, medical equipment and contractor support
  • Assist with budgeting, financial monitoring and operational reporting
  • Maintain secure and accurate patient and practice documentation

About You

You will be a strong match if you have:

  • Experience as a Practice Manager or senior medical receptionist (GP, Urgent Care or Specialist experience welcome)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare and medical practice billing processes
  • Experience with practice management software (Best Practice desirable)
  • A calm, professional approach in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
