  • Level 6/7: $92,681 - $114,764 plus 17% superannuation
  • Generous working conditions in a great location, family friendly policies, flexible work practices and culturally sensitive leave provisions, including cultural and ceremonial leave

The University of Wollongong (UOW) invites applications from dedicated and community-minded individuals for the role of Indigenous Future Student Program Coordinator. This position provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to long-term change by supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students on their journey to higher education.

This is an identified position open only to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, in accordance with relevant anti-discrimination legislation.

As the Indigenous Future Student Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating a wide range of programs that engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, schools, and communities. Your work will focus on raising aspirations, strengthening access to university, and supporting a culturally empowering transition into higher education.

You will lead school and community engagement activities, both on-campus and through outreach, while supporting the delivery of UOW's Indigenous Admissions Program. Working closely with the Future Student and Student Success teams at the Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC), you'll help shape communication strategies, build relationships with key stakeholders, run recruitment events, and create content that promotes student engagement.

A key part of the role includes mentoring a team of Indigenous Student Ambassadors, overseeing their recruitment, training, and coordination to ensure successful program delivery throughout the year.

To thrive in this position, you'll bring strong cultural knowledge, experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and a background in educational outreach. You'll be confident working independently, managing competing priorities, and communicating effectively with schools, families, and community organisations. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is required, along with strong organisational and digital skills.

UOW is nationally recognised for its excellence in student experience, and the Woolyungah Indigenous Centre is at the heart of supporting Indigenous students from enrolment through to graduation in a culturally safe and empowering environment.

This is your opportunity to make a real impact, working within a supportive team committed to educational equity, cultural empowerment, and community-led change.
