Indigenous Student Program Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and community-minded individual to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students on their journey to higher education. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to long-term change by developing, delivering, and evaluating programs that engage students, schools, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver programs that raise aspirations, strengthen access to university, and support a culturally empowering transition into higher education.
  • Lead school and community engagement activities, both on-campus and through outreach.
  • Support the delivery of UOW's Indigenous Admissions Program.
  • Mentor a team of Indigenous Student Ambassadors, overseeing their recruitment, training, and coordination.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in educational outreach.
  • Strong cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Confidence in managing competing priorities and communicating effectively with schools, families, and community organisations.
