Indigenous Education Specialist

The University of Wollongong is seeking a dedicated and community-minded Indigenous Education Specialist to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students on their journey to higher education.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and evaluate programs that engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, schools, and communities to raise aspirations and strengthen access to university.
- Lead engagement activities with schools and communities, including outreach and the delivery of the Indigenous Admissions Program.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to shape communication strategies, build relationships, run recruitment events, and create content promoting student engagement.
- Mentor a team of Indigenous Student Ambassadors, overseeing their recruitment, training, and coordination for successful program delivery.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience; strong organisational and digital skills.
- Strong cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively.
- Experience in educational outreach and a demonstrated commitment to educational equity and community-led change.

This is a full-time position based at the Wollongong campus. A valid Australian Driver Licence and National Criminal History Check are required prior to commencement. Proof of Aboriginality must be provided as per the Indigenous Employment Procedure.
