Purpose of the role

Endeavour Group is Australia's leader in the drinks and hospitality industry. With more than 28,000 team members and a footprint of over 1,600 stores and 330 hotels, we're behind household names such as Dan Murphy's, BWS, and ALH Hotels.

Our shared purpose? To create a more sociable future together.

Within Endeavour, the Data & AI (d&ai) team helps bring this mission to life by providing meaningful insights and data-driven solutions that empower decision-making across our retail, hospitality, and online environments.

As a Data Analyst, you'll support end-to-end analytical and data product initiatives - transforming data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and integrated business solutions for key stakeholders.

Job Description

So, what does the job look like?

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.

  • Design, build, and maintain visually engaging dashboards and reports for key stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage robust data pipelines and scalable data architecture, ensuring data quality through thorough validation processes and the identification and resolution of inconsistencies or gaps.

  • Focus on deriving meaningful insights (the 'so what') from ongoing and ad hoc analyses, crafting clear narratives and identifying actions and opportunities.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and data optimisation.

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor and partner.

  • Adhere to team norms, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency across the business, while actively contributing to and supporting positive team dynamics.

  • Document your pathways: champion the role of solid data governance, create data lineage assets and create meaningful documentation for your stakeholders and peers

  • Thrive and grow within our team norms, standards and procedures to provide consistency across the business and with peers

  • Keep learning: stay up to date with knowledge of current trends to ensure our solutions remain in line with industry best practice

As our successful candidate you will form part of Endeavour's Data & AI (d&ai) team. You will have had relevant experience in a similar role where you have supported key stakeholders to deliver insights and support decisions, as well as having worked across data visualisation and insights.

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

You're a collaborative problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Curious and detail-oriented, you're comfortable diving deep into data to uncover insights that drive meaningful impact. You ask the right questions, communicate findings clearly, and bring a well-rounded skill set that enables you to work effectively across technical, analytical, and business contexts.

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Analytics, or similar).

  • A minimum of two years' hands-on analytics experience.

  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to work confidently with large, complex datasets.

  • Experience with data modelling and pipeline development, ideally using Cloud technologies such as GCP and DBT.

  • Proficiency in data visualisation and storytelling (Tableau preferred).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A strong focus on delivery, with a proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.

  • An analytically inquisitive mindset, with the ability to identify root causes and uncover opportunities for improvement.
