Caura Pty Ltd has an exciting opportunity for Disability Support Workers to join our community support team working across Sydney & South East Sydney. Caura Pty Ltd offers a range of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). you will be providing support to participants both adults and young people with a disability.

The positions offered:

Contracted role offering a minimum 30 hours per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will:

  • Support clients to identify and achieve their goals; such as cooking, shopping, budgeting
  • Support clients in SIL housing
  • Support clients with personal care, and hygiene such a showing, dressing, eating, toileting
  • Engaging clients in community access
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Build effective relationships with clients and their families and carers
  • Implement routines and structures through positive role modelling

Requirements:

  • Hold a current P2 license or an open license
  • Current Police Check
  • Working with children check
  • Have a fully insured vehicle (comprehensive)
  • NDIS Worker Module
  • Manuel Handling
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Willing to travel across Western Sydney
  • Must be confident in driving a Disability Van

Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent accreditation in social science/community services
  • Experience in disability care, aged care or home care. But not a requirement
  • Meal preparation
  • Feeding and preparation of texture modified foods and thickened drinks
  • Literacy and writing skills
  • Wheelchair and hoist experience
  • Reliability
  • Punctual
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centered care
  • Demonstrated experience following behaviours and behaviour support plans
  • Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous
  • Experienced in Driving a Disability Van
