Pro-Exec Technical Manager

Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane

  • Part-time, opportunity (2-3 days per week)

Are you a lateral thinker with a passion for clients? We are looking for an experienced insurance coverage lawyer with strong knowledge of financial lines products, namely Professional Indemnity, Directors' & Officers' Liability, Crime, Tech E&O and Cyber.

The role will be focused on enhancing client coverage and developing new products for market, utilising your technical drafting skills, whilst supporting the Pro-Exec team and clients with advice in respect to uninsured contractual risks.

Key responsibilities & skills

  • Reviewing and drafting primary and excess policy coverage including but not limited to insuring clauses, professional services descriptions, endorsements, exclusions etc.
  • Reviewing client contracts and advising on assumed liabilities/contractual provisions/language that will present coverage/indemnity issues to Insureds.
  • Working with Pro-Exec servicing teams to provide technical support and enhance client service delivery and solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting trends within Government and the private sector.
  • Experience of reviewing Architect, engineering and construction contracts.
  • Knowledge of Project Specific PI would be advantageous.
  • Analysis of coverage trends and products available in the domestic and international insurance markets.
  • Strong communication/stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to triage between legal counsel, insurers and brokers on proposed technical coverage enhancements.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of client industries, risks, and insurance products.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in law.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in private practice or legal department/team within an insurer, broker or professional services/construction firm.
  • Exceptional technical and drafting skills.
  • Strong verbal reasoning and report writing capabilities.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to implement ideas from concept to execution.
  • Highly organised with strong time management and project management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
