Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader to take up the role of Director, Schools and Stakeholder Engagement.
This role is being offered for the first time, and we are looking for someone who is a passionate advocate for vocational education and training in Schools across Queensland and strong stakeholder engagement, internally and externally.
The role is available on a permanent full-time basis, with a base location at TAFE Queensland's Ipswich or Toowoomba Campus. Travel across the region and State will be required, from time to time.
As the Director, Schools and Stakeholder Engagement, you will:
- be a highly respected and innovative leader with significant experience in the Vocational Education sector;
- take a leading role in shaping, advocating for, and driving the strategic direction of vocational education and training (VET) training programs in schools, as well as advancing VET career education for students;
- build and sustain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally at a strategic level, to influence and enhance the delivery of vocational and tertiary training programs in schools and related initiatives;
- lead the TAFE Queensland South West Region TAFE at School team; and
- provide expert advice to key Regional stakeholders, including the TAFE Queensland South West Region's Executive Leadership Team, on matters relating to vocational education and training in schools.
This position reports to the General Manager and has close working relationships with all members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Salary
Appointment to this role is via an Individual Employment Agreement (IEA) which attracts a Total Remuneration Package (TRP) amount of $186, gross) per annum including base salary, superannuation and leave loading.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- Senior leadership experience in relevant/related setting
- Current QLD Driver's License

Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
- Minimum five years of senior leadership experience in VET or consultative industry engagement.

- Proven expertise in leading projects and initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation of programs, client growth, and innovative solutions to organisational challenges.
- Identified competency in assessing changes in policies, identifying emerging trends, and advising leadership on strategic adjustments to stay ahead in the sector.
- The ability to effectively represent and promote TAFE Queensland through forums, workshops, events, and reporting, while fostering alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders.
