About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to play a key part in coordinating the development and implementation of OV Prevention strategies to improve current work practices and outcomes. The position will focus on steps to improve safety outcomes by undertaking work on initiatives and projects under the guidance of the Manager Occupational Violence (OV) Prevention
In this role will have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to critical OV initiatives and improvement projects.
- Provide effective violence prevention guidance to all NSW Ambulance staff and other stakeholders
- Liaise with stakeholders to provide timely information updates and reports for OV incidents.
- Positively influence the culture of violence prevention in order to build an organisational commitment to effective risk management.
- Research and critically analyse data, identify issues, assess options and prepare accurate and timely recommendations and reports in relation to OV Prevention policy development and / or the implementation of safety policy directives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is resilient and passionate about keeping our staff safe. Ideally, you will bring:
- Experience in violence prevention with a behavioural safety focus in a large diverse service industry organisation. This includes foundational knowledge of current work health and safety legislation and how that relates to workplace violence prevention, criminal law and Court processes
- Proven capacity to implement initiatives including the capacity to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage.
- Experience navigating complex organisational environments, with the ability to communicate effectively, provide strategic advice, and influence senior managers and key stakeholders to meet project needs.
- Sound analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare written reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business workplace safety solutions. Intermediate skills and experience with Microsoft and Adobe suite of applications.
