City of Parramatta's Community Capacity Building team is seeking to fill two Project Officers positions with the team:
- One full-time role working across multiple portfolios; and,
- One part-time role, 3-day equivalent, focussing on Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
The positions are ideally suited to individuals who are passionate and committed to social justice and thriving communities, are keen to learn and support the work of an equally passionate and committed team.
City of Parramatta's Community Capacity Building team works with internal stakeholders and community-partners to deliver outcomes that contribute to resilient and thriving communities in Parramatta. The team focuses on multiple portfolios such as socio-economic inclusion, Young People, Disability Inclusion, Homelessness, Prevention of Domestic & Family Violence, Social Investment and First Nations. The team's work is dynamic and varied, stretching from capacity building through events and workshops to supporting systemic change through advocacy and policy work.
Both positions require experience in community development or related fields along with demonstrated understanding of social determinants of health and capacity building, project management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
**About the roles**
The Project Officer roles are responsible for supporting the delivery of the Community Capacity Building team's response to Council's strategic and priority objectives. The roles include contributing to development and delivery of project and business plans, managing procurement of suppliers, contributing to reports to Council and external bodies, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver shared-value projects. Each position reports to a Community Capacity Building Lead in the relevant portfolio.
Some duties of the **Project Officer, Full-time**:
- Monitor progress on actions in Council's Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan and Homelessness Action Plan.
- Assist Community Capacity Building Lead, Prevention and Inclusion, with the renewal of Council's Homelessness Action Plan.
- Coordinate the delivery and evaluation of workshops and events, including internal and external stakeholder management.
- Coordinate the delivery of specific activities within Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan and Homelessness Action Plan.
- Work in partnership with the Public Space Liaison Officer on projects to support people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
Some Duties of the **Project Officer, Part-Time **(3-day equivalent):
- Assist the Community Capacity Building Lead, Participation and Inclusion, to monitor progress on actions in Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), including liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to preparation of reports and meetings regarding progress on the DIAP.
- Contribute to identification of projects, preparation of project plans, and delivery of activities in relation to the DIAP.
- Procurement of external suppliers, including obtaining quotes, record keeping, and communicating with suppliers over the life of the contract.
- Coordinate the delivery and evaluation of internal and external events, including liaising with venues and event attendees.
**About You**
Key criteria for this role include the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in the social sciences or related field applicable to social planning and community development.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a position related to community development or social sustainability.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and/or community campaigns to provide opportunities for service enhancement and achievement of improved long-term community outcomes.
- High level written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner.
- High level ability to build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.
**What's on offer**
For the full-time position, we are offering an attractive salary from $93,903.52 to $ $103,386.50 plus 10.5% superannuation
For the part-time, 3-day equivalent position, we are offering $93,903.52 to $103,386.50 pro-rata plus 10.5% superannuation
