The Southport Sharks are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Coach to lead the QAFLW Women's team into the next phase of its development. The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a high-performance environment that supports team success, individual player development, and the continued growth of women's football at the club.

This position requires strong leadership, tactical knowledge, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with the values of the Southport Sharks Football Club.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver dynamic training sessions that sharpen skills, game sense and team strategy.
  • Lead the team on game day, including match-day coaching, bench management and opposition analysis.
  • Mentor and develop players with tailored feedback and clear development plans.
  • Manage and guide assistant coaches, volunteers and support staff.
  • Assist with player recruitment and talent identification through local clubs and academies.
  • Ensure compliance with AFL Queensland rules and reporting requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum AFL Level 2 Coaching Accreditation.
  • Proven senior coaching experience at state league, community or development level.
  • Experience coaching women's football will be highly regarded.
  • Strong tactical knowledge of modern AFL coaching principles and training methods.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Availability for evening training, weekend games and occasional travel.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and current driver's licence.
  • Familiarity with digital coaching tools (e.g. Hudl, Sportscode) will be highly regarded.
