About the Role
Commencing in January 2026 or by negotiation, St Peters Lutheran College is seeking to appoint the Head of Academic Staff - Years 7-12. This is a unique opportunity for an qualified educator and exceptional people leader to contribute meaningfully to the success and continued growth of the College. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will champion a high performing culture and model leadership behaviours reflective of the College's values of integrity, collaboration and excellence, whilst delivering strategic and operational leadership of Academic Staff across Years 7-12. You will collaborate closely with People and Culture Department to ensure alignment of College polices, values and practices. Your impact will come from your visible and value-lead leadership as you coach, develop and build staff capability.
Key Responsibilities
As Head of Academic Staff - Years 7-12, you will build respectful partnerships across the College. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership & People Management: foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement through effective performance management and pastoral care of Academic Staff.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: lead the recruitment, selection and appointment of Academic Staff aligned to strategic workforce needs and succession planning framework.
Leading Performance & Professional Growth: oversee the Academic Staff Appraisal and Evaluation Program in alignment with professional standards and growth pathways.
Capability Development & Early Career Support: champion strategic initiatives that enhance Academic Staff capability including oversight of the Early Career Teacher Program and managing the Pre-Service Teacher Program.
Operational Oversight: managing daily staffing logistics and ensuring operational efficiency and responsiveness.
Culture, Compliance & Governance: contribute to shaping and sustaining a values-driven Academic Staff culture through strategic leadership and collaboration whilst ensuring compliance and financial stewardship and transparency aligned to College priorities.
Christian Ethos: Model and support the Christian ethos of the College, fostering a community grounded in compassion, respect, and service.
