Join a leading innovator in remote-piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), specialising in the development and operation of high-performance RPAS for industrial applications, which includes long-range surveillance, data acquisition, and remote inspections. As part of our mission to push the boundaries of advanced RPAS operations, we seek skilled and motivated Systems Engineers to join our team.

As a Systems Engineer, you will assist in the documentation preparation for CASA regulatory compliance and and supporting with pre-sales tender activity and data management focusing on RPAS across a range of missions, including aerial data collection, surveying, and environmental monitoring. The role requires a solid understanding engineering principals and aviation regulations and will primarily focus on Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing complex documentation to support the development of BVLOS regulatory and compliance applications
  • Working with clients on pre-sales activity focusing on technical documentation for proposal and tender applications
  • Develop a strong working relationship with internal engineering and business teams and external licensing and regulatory compliance bodies
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand mission requirements and deliver high-quality data.
  • Support data collection, download, and initial processing for analysis and client reporting.
  • Contribute to Safety Management System by reporting hazards and incidents per established protocols.
  • Provide feedback on aircraft performance and assist in continuously improving operational procedures.
  • Participate in regular training and check flights to maintain currency and proficiency as per standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent technical writing skills including experience writing highly complex and nuanced technical specifications for high value tenders and proposals and regulatory body approvals.
  • A solid background knowledge of mechanical/electronic engineering, ideally in the drone/aerospace industry.
  • Organisation and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder
  • Experienced with documentation and collaboration software and system architecture visualisation tools.
