ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to ongoing expansion, we are looking for a full-time System Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Sydney. The successful Engineer will be involved in our customers' project defining and performing testing activities, to ensure the System and System elements meet the Functional Baseline Requirements and/or Allocated Baseline requirements and confirm the systems are fit for purpose.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a System Engineer, your key responsibilities and tasks will include:

  • Requirements review and management to confirm requirements are testable and allocate a verification method(s) and verification phase(s)
  • Creation, maintenance and traceability of test procedures to verify Functional and Allocated Baseline requirements including identifying current system limitations
  • Ensure programs and applications perform to specification (by testing, debugging, diagnosing and rectifying errors using correct protocols and procedures)
  • System Robustness Evaluation including validating the systems fitness for purpose
  • Apply design patterns and design principles to produce maintainable and easy to extend code
  • Communicate clearly with both business and technical teams and be able to present to senior stakeholders with advice, guidance, and expertise in relation to software, system designs and specifications
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to ensure that issues are understood at a root-cause level and the desire to bring about changes to prevent recurrence
  • Customer interface, coordination, and communication
  • Effectively communicate and closely collaborate with multi-functional teams across time zones

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Bachelor degree
  • At least 1 year of work experience
  • Relevant experience in communications system
  • Practical experience in system engineering, IVVQ and Test & Commissioning
  • Able to read and understand wiring and electrical diagrams
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge in Python and/or Shell scripting and/or other related programming language can be a plus.

Salary for the role would be $75,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on experience
