Please note: As of 1 January 2026, the Major Projects Directorate will transition to the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery, Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) located at 34 Stirling Street, Perth. This change will not impact this recruitment process or the status of any applications. However, please be aware that while the Department of Housing and Works is currently managing this recruitment process, it will not be the employing authority for appointments commencing 1 January 2026. From that date, DTMI will be the employing authority.

The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia—including schools, hospitals and police facilities.
We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation.

About The Role:
The Project Officer is an important member of the Commercial Services team within the Major Projects Directorate. The position is responsible for a diverse variety of tasks including coordination of governance processes that apply across the directorate, stakeholder engagement, research, and business improvement.
The Project Officer is the first point of contact for the Commercial Services team and is responsible for triaging queries, assigning these to the relevant team members for attention and monitoring progress.
