About the opportunityThe position will require:
  • Completion of specified tasks to ensure responsibilities related with Council's Transformational Projects are carried out to the highest quality design and in accordance with program, budget, and brief requirements.
  • Assisting with and coordinating activities related to capital expenditure reviews, authority approvals, stakeholder engagement, risk management, project governance, and compliance..
  • Assisting with and managing procurement and contract management activities, including but not limited to RFQs, tenders, contracts, contractor claims, and the project handover process
  • Preparing reports, memos, process manuals, letters, and other related correspondence.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Directorate's key objectives as directed by various department managers.
Qualifications and experienceEssential:
  • Degree in Construction Project Management, Engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in construction project management, contract management including local government procurement process, contract administration and compliance
  • Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with an attention to detail
  • Current class C driver's license
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • High level oral and written communication skills to a broad range of audiences
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
Desirable
  • Experience working within an Engineering or Project Management Office
  • Experience on Local Government procurement Process
  • Experience on construction project Management
  • Experience in documentation and delivery of projects
  • Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulations in relation to procurement.
Remuneration and benefits
  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
  • 35-hour working week
