About the role:

The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) sits within Road Policing Command, Victoria Police. it plays an important part in long-term deterrence of dangerous road behaviour through increased speed and red-light offence detection, resulting in infringements. As an enforcement agency, Victoria Police also responds to requests to review or take other relevant action related to the detection or enforcement of an offence.

Consisting of both VPS and Sworn staff members; RPED is responsible for the enforcement of all road safety camera, police member and tolling infringements. The division has strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network and infringement systems as well as being a key point of contact for the public.

The role of Administrative Support Officer is tasked with performing multiple functions related to the compiling of briefs of evidence for court and other administrative activity as directed. The successful applicant must have an eye for detail and be flexible with their tasking being reprioritised as directed by the unit manager.

Your duties will include:

  • Review, process and respond to correspondence relating to infringement offences and enquiries from the public.
  • Undertake a diverse range of administrative tasks, prepare reports, and ensure that customer service needs are met.
  • Process court requests and undertake brief preparation compliant with the relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Consult with prosecutors, informants, external stakeholders, contracted service providers, legal representatives, and members of the public relating to briefs of evidence, infringement notices and court dates.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A strong commitment to high quality customer service delivery standards to internal and external stakeholders;
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility, the abilitiy to prioritise tasks and motivation to achieve common goals;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;
  • Strong computer skills.

Requirements and relev ant information:

  • Two (2) x Ongoing (full-time) 1.0 FTE positions available.
  • Your usual place of work will be the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer St, Docklands
