About the Role
BOQ Group have an exciting and critical role available for a Technology and Business focussed invidual. This role will be based in the CIO office within the banks Group Technology division.
The Manager of the Services Consumption Office is responsible for the ongoing analysis and review of technology consumption for key material suppliers across the organisation.
This role provides critical insights into underlying cost drivers, enabling proactive cost management and accurate forecasting of future technology spend. By leveraging data-driven analysis, the role supports strategic decision-making and ensures financial efficiency in technology operations.
About you
In this role you will bring technology expertise along financial and business acumen to help manage and accurately forecast future technology spending.
- Proven experience with technology consumption and economics.
- Strong understanding of technology cost drivers, including cloud services, software licensing, infrastructure, and managed services.
- Moderate proficiency in management reporting, modelling, and forecasting.
- Solid understanding of supplier contracts and commercial terms, particularly in the context of banking technology procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across technology, finance, and operations, with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in leading small teams and developing analytical talent.
- Technical literacy across core technologies, including infrastructure (on-prem and cloud), enterprise software, SaaS platforms, and network services.
- Ability to interpret technology architecture and consumption data, including usage metrics, service tiers, and integration points between systems.
- Understanding of IT service management (ITSM) and technology lifecycle principles, including provisioning, decommissioning, and asset management.
- Experience working with technology teams, including architects, engineers, and service owners, to validate consumption data and align financial insights with operational realities.
