This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

Enjoy a varied caseload, encompassing both paediatric and adults, as well as adult inpatients - this role will see you develop well-rounded Speech Pathology skills. Although this is open to level 1-3 applicants, you would be working alongside another enthusiastic speech pathologist to strengthen your generalist skills.

What you'll do

As an experience and dedicated speech pathologist you'll provide speech pathology services to children, adults and inpatients, giving you a rich variety of clinical experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders in both paediatric and adult clients.
  • Deliver individual therapy and group programs tailored to patient needs.
  • Provide education and advice to patients, carers and families to support long-term outcomes.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care across health services.
  • Contribute to inpatient care, including assessment and therapy for patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Participate in health promotion, service development and quality improvement projects.
  • Support student placements and contribute to supervision of less experienced staff, depending on your level of experience.
  • Take part in ongoing professional development and supervision, ensuring your practice remains evidence-based and current.
