This role sits within our Consumer PR and Influence business at Ogilvy PR. We are a team of 30+ culturally curious, creatively driven and impact-obsessed brand marketing experts across Sydney and Melbourne who believe that brands and organisations are at their best when they find ways to earn attention.

We design and deliver culturally relevant and creative campaigns that can be activated across a wide range of channels, including media and publicity, social and digital media, influencers and community, activations and events.
As a member of the team, you will be expected to contribute and build relationships across every Ogilvy PR business and be able to talk knowledgeably about our clients, the cultural backdrop, offerings and specialists.
About the Role
As a Social Strategist, you'll be pivotal in shaping impactful social experiences for some of the world's most exciting brands. You'll move beyond just content, driving social strategies that connect culture, creativity, and clout.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and execution of cutting-edge social media strategies, transforming client objectives into dynamic and engaging digital campaigns.
- Be hands-on across the entire campaign lifecycle, from ideation and meticulous setup to real-time monitoring, flawless execution, robust reporting, and continuous optimisation.
- Leverage your fluency in social platforms and tools (e.g., Google Trends, Brandwatch, CreatorIQ) to analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and cultural shifts, turning data into actionable insights that fuel your strategic recommendations.
- Develop and oversee impactful influencer engagement strategies and community management initiatives, building genuine connections with talent agencies, creators, and online communities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with account teams and wider agency specialists to ensure social strategies are deeply integrated into broader communication plans, driving consistent brand messaging and measurable results.
- Act as a trusted digital and social point person for clients, guiding them on best practices, optimising their presence, and ensuring their social content aligns perfectly with overarching brand goals.
- Contribute your expert social and influencer insights to new business pitches, helping to secure exciting opportunities and expand Ogilvy's impact.
- Stay ahead of the curve on emerging social media trends, platforms, and technologies, proactively identifying opportunities for clients to innovate and engagingly share your expertise with the team and agency.
- Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment of continuous learning and development within .
What You'll Bring
- You have proven experience as a Social Strategist or similar role within an agency or in-house environment, with a portfolio showcasing impactful, creative, and data-driven social campaigns.
- You have a deep, intuitive understanding of the evolving social media landscape, platform nuances, and a passion for culture – from pop culture phenomena to broader societal discourse – that informs your strategic thinking.
- You have a solid grasp of brand marketing fundamentals, including how brands grow, archetypes, and purpose-driven strategies.
- You are proficient in social listening, analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Brandwatch, CreatorIQ, Google Trends, Roy Morgan) to unearth deep audience insights and measure campaign effectiveness.
- You have experience in leading and facilitating dynamic brainstorming and workshops, fostering an environment where big ideas flourish.
- You are a natural collaborator and connector who excels at building strong relationships with clients, internal teams, influencers, and external partners. You are a 'people person' who listens and leads with empathy.
- You have an enquiring mind that constantly seeks new ways to work smarter, challenge norms, and bring creativity to every task, eager to test opinions and share knowledge.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate complex strategies clearly, present confidently, and adapt your message to diverse audiences.
- You have an interest in understanding the broader business of an agency, including budgeting, project management, and identifying opportunities for growth and upselling.
